Martendaya worships Lord Shiva
Founded in 1939 the mandal has Gaurav Nagpure as its president. The display put up by the mandal this year speaks about Marteendaya the disciple of Shiva. The scene with six idols shows how Martendaya worships Lord Shiva and wins his blessings. He was thereafter known as Mrutyunjaya, meaning the victor of death. Besides national festivals the mandal celebrates other cultural festivals also. |
