Story of River Ganga
The mandal is celebrating its 110th year and has put a display depicting how the king Bhagirath got the river Ganga to the earth from the heavens. After a draught like situation, Bhagirath was about to commit suicide when he is advised to worship Lord Shankar who in turn told him to worship the Himalayas and as a blessing, he gets Ganga to quench the thirst of the living beings and the agricultural fields. The display shows Bhagirath worshipping the lord while Shankar receives the Ganga from the heaven. The mandal is led by Amol Shukla and celebrates all national festivals. |
