Coronation ceremony of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj - Live
Founded in 1975 and led by Mahesh Menge, the mandal has chosen a scene from the Maratha history for this years Ganesh festival. Instead of idols, they have involved about 70 children who participate in the scene depicting the coronation ceremony of the great Maratha warrior Shivaji at the king. Backed with an impressive narration, the participants dressed in traditional costumes, bring back the past moments from the pages of history ending the scene with slogans raised in praise of Shivaji. Besides Ganesh festival the mandal organises various celebrations to mark national festivals and other occasion. It has also made an effort towards assisting in the cause of helping the flood affected. |
