Vat-Savitri
Founded in 1972 the mandal is led by Amit Gupta. It has ten idols on display depicting the scene of the origin of the Vat-savitri tradition. The scene tells the audience about how Savitri forced gods to revive her husband Satyavan through her devotion. The idols on display have a huge idol of Yamraj seated on a bullock totaling height of about 29 feet. The mandal has donated utensils and food grain for flood affected areas in Konkan region. |
