Hanuman lifting the Dronagiri
This more than a century old mandal on Fergusson College road is led by Dr Pratap Patil. Depicting a scene from the Ramayana, this year’s display shows Hanuman lifting the Dronagiri hill to fetch medicine for Laxman. The display has the idols of Laxman, Hanuman and other disciples. As a mark for social commitment, the mandal organizes functions to mark the national festivals along with celebration of events like Sankrant, Hanuman Jayanti and Shiv Jayanti. The mandal is also known for its annual activity of welcoming and helping the participants of the annual Palkhi procession to Pandharpur. |
